THE WILDFLORA 3RD ST GRAND OPENING PARTY

I have been working with the amazing team of flower fairies at Wildflora for a few months now. It has been such a delight to evolve my knowledge and creativity when it comes to florals. So when it came time to have their Grand Opening party for their new 2nd shop, I was thrilled to be able to make that night a magical botanical reality.

AN ENGLISH PEA + LEMON BASIL RICOTTA CAULIFLOWER FLATBREAD

It is a chilly and grey day in LA. Which simply reminds me that it is not yet summer. So to warm up my soul and celebrate the changing spring season, I decided to put together this little gem that is both savory and light.

TART CHERRY + ROSE WATERMELON BEER COCKTAIL

The cherry blossoms have bloomed and the spring weather has begun to feel like summer, so I felt it was only appropriate to spend the afternoon in the sun sipping tart cheery + watermelon rose cocktails, while reading the new issue of Bon Appetit magazine.

ROASTED BEET + PICKLED RADISH SALAD W/ HORSERADISH YOGURT + DANDELION GREENS

This combination of flavors brings me back to summers spent in the Austrian Alps, helping my sister at her small cafe. Salads there were bitter and light and usually served family style.

A CARROT ORANGE GIN COCKTAIL W/ TURMERIC + GINGER

Easter is tomorrow and it has me thinking of eggs and carrot and all things spring. I have been a lover of fresh juice for many years, a carrot, orange, ginger mix has always been my go to. So I naturally thought — now how to make that into a naughty brunch worthy cocktail, perfect for my gathering on easter Sunday. A simple cocktail, that’s not too sweet.

A ROASTED RED PEPPER CAESAR W/ SAUTÉED VEG AND SOURDOUGH CROUTONS

I am not now, or have ever been, a big Caesar Salad person. Probably because creamy dressings really aren't my thing.  So, when my sister suggested making a Roasted Red Pepper Caesar Salad, I was like.... nah....  But, then I thought about it -- and I thought about how many people love such salads and are going out of their way to purchase ready made dressings, filled with unnecessary saturated fat and chemicals.

White Beans on Toast w/ fresh Lemon, Mozzarella and Avocado

A modern take on an old tradition. I will still always crave a simple tomato based baked beans on a piece of buttered toast, but this lemon and dill white bean salad is by far a healthier choice, filled with more protein and when paired with fresh homemade hummus, avocado and mozzarella is quite a delight.

THE ART OF CREATING AN INSPIRATIONal SPACE : INTRO

what is your workspace like ? Are you like me and work at home most of the time? Do you have a studio space you have built for yourself? Or work in an office ? I have been thinking a lot about the importance of your work space. The things you are surrounding yourself with that inspire you to cultivate creativity in your day to day.

GRAPEFRUIT MARMALADE + WHITE BEAN GRAIN SALAD

The very first, twenty-eighteen addition to The Art of the Salad series — crafting creative and nutrient rich bowls of green. I very much have an affinity for fruit in savory dishes, especially mixed into a fresh leafy salad. Maybe it's my - warm climate, Florida roots speaking, but I can truly never get enough citrus in my life.

CLOUDY DAYS FOR THE CREATIVE THINKER

Isn't it so very hard to focus, when you are lost in the clouds...? This happens more often than not to the creative thinker. So many thoughts all at once, leaves a blanket of white cast over our minds.

AN HERBED HEIRLOOM TOMATO + STONEFRUIT GALETTE W/ HOMEMADE RICOTTA

When I look at this slab of baked heirloom tomatoes and stonefruit the words "Spring is Coming"  quickly rings silently in my mind. Yes, we still may have roughly six weeks til that day, but in Los Angeles the warm days and blooming trees say otherwise.
