Austria at Christmas time is quite a sight. It certainly does embark a feeling of the past. Just a forewarning, through the rest of my travels you will experience christmas all over again.. just when you finally thought you had escaped the holiday season.
Innsbruck had a total of 5 christmas markets located around the city. My favorite one was right in the middle, where the christmas tree stood. Here the tiny winding streets are lined with hundreds of booths selling anything from christmas trinkets to frosted hanging cookies, to local art and lots of mulled wine. It's where the locals spend most evenings drinking, eating and enjoying the holiday glow. Along the buildings we found small art exhibitions telling the fairytales of snow white, little red riding hood and many more. It truly was wonderful.
