To create from scratch is something very special. I sometimes forget as a professional creative human, that my ability to take something that once lived secretly in my mind and watch it develop and become real before my eyes, is pretty magical. It is something we all have to remind ourselves in times of stress and when we are feeling overwhelming pressure.

I have been working with the amazing team of flower fairies at Wildflora for a few months now. It has been such a delight to evolve my knowledge and creativity when it comes to florals. So when it came time to have their Grand Opening party for their new 2nd shop, I was thrilled to be able to make that night a magical botanical reality.

I am not now, or have ever been, a big Caesar Salad person. Probably because creamy dressings really aren't my thing. So, when my sister suggested making a Roasted Red Pepper Caesar Salad, I was like.... nah.... But, then I thought about it -- and I thought about how many people love such salads and are going out of their way to purchase ready made dressings, filled with unnecessary saturated fat and chemicals.
White Beans on Toast w/ fresh Lemon, Mozzarella and Avocado
A modern take on an old tradition. I will still always crave a simple tomato based baked beans on a piece of buttered toast, but this lemon and dill white bean salad is by far a healthier choice, filled with more protein and when paired with fresh homemade hummus, avocado and mozzarella is quite a delight.

I very much have an affinity for fruit in savory dishes, especially mixed into a fresh leafy salad. Maybe it's my - warm climate, Florida roots speaking, but I can truly never get enough citrus in my life.
